Getting back to Manado after Bunaken was a massive relief, we had found a cheap hotel on Agoda and unbelievably it was one of the most luxurious hotels in Manado. We arrived too early for our room so spent the morning relaxing around the roof top pool, yes, this is the life.

Manado is a pretty small town but it has all the luxuries you would ever need, shopping malls, shiny pizza restaurants and nice hotels. Needless to say we made the most of all of the towns facilities.

We even managed to justify one more night in Manado after our tour of Tangkoko just to sleep in a clean mosquito free bed and have a hot shower in a clean bathroom.

The main attraction in Manado is a food market, sadly it is famous for all the wrong reasons as dog and monkey meat are the main fare for sale. After such a magnificent experience in Tangkoko we just couldn’t bring ourselves to visit the market, some countries experiences are just best left for the locals.

Onwards to clean and shiny, beautiful Singapore…..
